Two tennis courts at Pontypool Park are set to receive a £16,000 refurbishment, thanks to a grant from the Torfaen Sports Development Tennis Focus Sports Programme. The team is currently working to install gated technology at the park's tennis courts, and they hope to have the work finished by the end of October.

The Shell Grotto in Pontypool Park was built during the 18th century as a hunting lodge. The grotto's restoration was a joint effort of Davies Sutton Architecture and Monmouth-based builder Nick Barter. The restoration was a delicate process, and the interior was in a sorry state.
