There were two main proposals to construct a centre, with the first being for a watersports centre. The latter would have allowed for functions and events. The plans also would have extended the current opening hours of the visitor centre to midnight.
The centre was completed in 2014 and opened to the public in 2015 following a £3 million investment by Welsh Water. It is a popular attraction for people of all ages and interests. The centre features a variety of watersport activities, including canoeing. The centre has indoor and outdoor pools (if you prefer to be in the water rather than on it), as well as a boating lake. Wildlife enthusiasts will also appreciate the area's habitat for migratory birds.
The Llandegfedd Reservoir Visitor and Watersport Centre is one of the largest tourist attractions in Wales. There are many activities available on and around the lake, including fishing and picnicking. There's a café there that offers panoramic views of the lake. The area includes four walking trails around the reservoir and a number of water sports facilities.
The centre is open from May to September. As well as offering a wide variety of water sports and other things mentioned above, the facility also hosts regular boat tours, as well as a number of other activities and events.
