MSIT Fall 2022
This project enables faculty and departments to enhance students’ learning across courses and programs in support of the CSM curriculum alignment effort. It will develop analytics tools that take advantage of continuously generated student assessment data. The tools will generate metrics that can inform faculty and administrators at the single-course level, across multiple sections of a course, or at the program level.
The tool will support the CSM curriculum alignment by supplying a common, digital structure in which instructors or course coordinators map Learning Objectives (course level and program level) to student activities or assessments in D2L or Remark Scantron Software. Instructors can then retrieve student assessment data from D2L/Remark Scantron software, and upload it into the analytic tool to generate metrics on student achievement pertaining to Learning Outcomes (LO).
Objective:
Create a set of Power BI dashboards and a data model for KSU’s College of Computing and Software Engineering.
Technology and Data:
PowerBI: Used to create dashboards
Power Query: Used to transform data and to create a data model
Excel: Used to clean data and create needed tables
The anonymized data was provided by the project owner.
Accomplishments:
We not only created the four dashboards and the data model that we were tasked to do but we also created two extra dashboards that we thought would be useful to the college. All the dashboards are about the CCSE curriculum and contain information such as course enrollment, course pass and fail rate, and faculty workload.
