“I’m not an 80 year-old woman who has years of profound stories to tell about trials and tribulations.
I’m just 32. Who would want to hear stories from me?”
Being Jewish right now is really hard and complicated. Being queer is also really hard and complicated. Mix a little Jew and a little bisexual together and infuse for 32 years in the melting pot of Philadelphia and you get a lot of captivating stories. So why not sing about them?
Listen and embrace, take a piece of it, a piece of something. Take it and put it in your pocket for the moment you need it the most. Experience musical theatre and pop songs, anecdotes, and maybe a little bit of whimsy in the city she’s always called home. Bluebird: A Cabaret features writer-performer-producer Aimee Yaffa Goldstein. Watch, be present, let go, and take flight.
Aimee (she/her) is a Philadelphia-based performer, producer, and project manager. She is also an improviser and the founder of two Jewish a cappella groups. Aimee enjoys exploring how creativity and organization can work in tandem. Aimee co-produced Curlyfish Productions' inaugural work /red room/ in 2023. When she isn't project managing during the day, producing with Curlyfish, or singing, Aimee can be found in a coffee shop near her apartment in South Philly.
