Global warming is the process in which substances called greenhouse gases are released into our atmosphere through the burning of coal, oil, or gasoline. This is a problem, as many modern industries rely on greenhouse gases as they are needed for energy. Greenhouse gases that are used for energy are generally labeled as fossil fuels, and these power most cars, airplanes, boats, heaters, AC's, and factories in the world. These greenhouse gases go into our atmosphere, and trap heat from the sun, making our Earth warmer. Thousands, upon tens of thousands of studies have been conducted, proving that since the end of World War I, global temperatures have been rising rapidly, as shown in the graph at the bottom of this article. Luckily, humanity has invented multiple ingenuitive solutions that allow for non fossil fuel based energy, and lower greenhouse gas emissions around the world. Here's the catch; it will be costly to fully transition from a society that relies on greenhouse gases to one that doesn't. Given that many people are undereducated on this problem, they don't believe it to be cost worthy to fully transition to a greenhouse gas free lifestyle, so it is necessary that we inform the public of this momentous world issue.
