Chat Mags: Some Front Page Samples
These are the front pages of some of the most popular Chat mags. These range from 2008 to the present day. No attempt is ever made by the newsagents to cover these magazines up and they are displayed on the bottom shelves (often next to the children's comics) at a child's eye-level, of supermarkets and local stores all across the country. Their content is a mixture of puppies and paedos, kittens and rapists, light-hearted trivia and horrific sex-murders. They make money from stories that sensationalise child abuse. And almost all the men in their stories are evil and the females and children are portrayed as victims.
Capitals used in this text are the same as those used in their headline covers.

Sometimes not only do they use a fresh-faced female on their covers, they even throw in a fluffy animal..
Then they add headlines like...
My Fiance dropped DEAD after seeing me RAPED

and worst of all... Honest advice EVERY WEEK from Jeremy Kyle.
In order to maximise their appeal to females, most of these women's chat magazines have a happy smiling woman's face on the front cover, contrasting with the horror of their headlines.
But not always.

A trend that these magazines have started using on their front pages around summer of 2018 is the use of pernicious "click-bait" headlines. These are horrific headlines followed by some text that compels you to look further - just like click-bait does on web pages.
