How can I get into the venue?

Diana is on Barnard's Campus near 118th Street and Broadway. The building looks fairly modern with large glass windows and an orange-ish exterior. Once you get to the building, the GMT Lobby is on Lower Level 2 (LL2), two floors down from the lobby. Here, you can check in with a Bacchae team member, fill out the consent form, view our drink options, etc. prior to entering the venue 15 minutes before the top of show. There is some seating, bathrooms, and a water fountain located in the GMT lobby.

DURING THE SHOW

What does "immersive" mean?

In a traditional theatre experience you buy a ticket, sit in a seat, and watch what happens on the stage. A “fourth wall” exists between the actors on stage and the audience in their seats – this does not exist in immersive theatre! With an immersive production, you are completely surrounded by the action of the play. This production aims to be immersive through several measures such as encouraging audience interaction with actors, serving themed mocktails, and creating a unique night club atmosphere. We invite you to come dressed up, lean into the action, and truly step into the world of our show-- the experience is what you make of it!

Can I still attend if I'd prefer to not be touched?

Absolutely! We will be making use of glow sticks (green and red, handed out at the door) for people to indicate their comfort levels while attending the performance. The actors have been trained and know that anyone with a red glowstick is not to be touched or directly interacted with in any way. Additionally, every audience member (regardless of indicated comfort) will be required to fill out the audience consent form prior to entering the "club".

Will you be serving alcohol?

15 minutes prior to showtime we will open up the floor and guests will be invited to enter the "club", order drinks, and interact with our actors and other patrons. There will be drink menus available at some tables, as well as when you enter the space. Our menu will not consist of any alcohol but will feature a selection of themed mocktails.

What is seating like?

There will be a few different seating options arranged throughout the space: banquet-style tables, audience chairs, standing tables, couches, and floor seating.

All seating is first come first serve.
