Directed Reading Program

"Convex and Concave" by M.C. Escher

The City University of New York Directed Reading Program (CUNY DRP) is a semester-long program aimed at CUNY undergraduates and master's students who are interested in mathematics. The DRP provides an opportunity to study a topic outside of the standard curriculum, receive mentorship from a graduate student, attend mathematically-centered events, and meet like-minded peers within the CUNY system. Throughout the semester, students will meet with their mentor on a weekly basis to discuss a selected reading. The program culminates in a poster session for students to showcase what they've learned.

The CUNY DRP aims to represent a variety of topics across mathematical disciplines, suitable for various student background levels. Students from any major or background are encouraged to apply! The only requirements are an interest in mathematics and a commitment to the program. Read more about program eligibility and expectations in our FAQ.

The events and workshops hosted by the CUNY DRP are open for anyone to attend. See the Events page for the list of past and upcoming events.
