Parking

Most metered parking in downtown Champaign and Urbana is free on weekends (and after 9pm on Friday in Champaign; after 6pm Friday in Urbana). Metered parking on and near campus is more restrictive - always check notices on meters for details. See the mission map to find larger lots.

E-bikes/scooters

E-bikes and scooters are available from Veo throughout Champaign-Urbana. They are particularly plentiful and useful on campus.

Bus

MTD offers bus service throughout Champaign-Urbana. Fares are $1 per ride.

Walking
Champaign-Urbana is a fairly pedestrian-friendly community. If you want a particular recommendation for a pleasant pedestrian route between missions, ask in our Telegram group.

Getting Here
By car
C-U is located at the intersection of Interstates 57, 74 and 72. We're 135 miles from Chicago, 180 miles from St. Louis, and 120 miles from Indianapolis.

By train
C-U is on an Amtrak line running from Chicago to New Orleans, with trains running twice a day in each direction.

By plane

C-U is served locally by Willard Airport (CMI) and regionally by Bloomington, IL (BMI) and Springfield, IL (SPI), as well as by the major airports of Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis.
