About Our Community Garage Sale

For years, the Cumberland Community Garage Sale was a beloved local tradition, bringing neighbours together for a morning of treasure hunting, decluttering, and community spirit. Originally organized by the Cumberland Community Association, the event was discontinued due to a lack of volunteers.

In 2022, Cumberland resident Julie Douglas saw an opportunity to revive the event—with a modern twist. By leveraging digital tools, Julie developed a system that makes it easier than ever for residents to participate. Sellers can sign up using Google Forms, and shoppers can effortlessly navigate the sale by scanning a QR code, which directs them to a Google Map highlighting participating households.

Thanks to this innovation, our garage sale is now more accessible, efficient, and engaging than ever. Whether you're hunting for hidden gems, hoping to declutter your home, or simply looking for a way to connect with neighbors, this event is for you!
