Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are caught up in your work and that you hand assignments in on time. I am not going to continually remind you of when tests are happening, or when work is due, or what needs to be done, as it takes away responsibility from you.
Be prepared (pen, paper, books, and brain) for every class and be responsible for the work you have to do and any material you may have missed.
General rules
NO PHONES! That is just rude. And now this is a ministry directive. All phones must be off and away. Please do not let your phone be a distraction to you or others. No games or music as well please.
Please do not eat in class (due to allergies, mess, and odour concerns).
Please do not be late, or if unavoidably late please enter the class in the least disruptive manner (this may involve waiting until someone has finished speaking). Chronic lateness will result in an “N” on your work habits rubric.
What I expect from the class:
For you to be paying attention to whomever is speaking, whether it is me or a fellow student, please give them your full attention, and do not give them half your attention and your notes, or book, or neighbour the other half.
For you, at all times, to respect yourself, your classmates, me, and the environment around you.
What you can expect from me:
For me to listen to you and make time to meet with you and discuss concerns or difficulties you might be having with the subject material or classroom.
For me to respect the class as a whole and you as an individual.
For me to assess and evaluate you in a fair and consistent manner.
Suggestions
Think ahead – if you know you are going to be absent come and see me.
If you miss a class come and talk to me to find out what you missed, a signed note from a parent/guardian with a telephone number included is needed to make up any marks missed on the day absent.
Be prepared for class (Pen, Paper, Book, Handouts) and be organized in class
