Lenapehoking

CUFA 2022 gathers on the lands and waters of Lenapehoking -- lands and waters loved and cared for by the Lenape Nation since time immemorial.

While we gather in 2022 on the homelands and waters of the Lenape Nation, we learn-research-write-teach-live on the homelands and waters of hundreds of Native nations who have loved and cared for their human and more-than-human relations since time immemorial. We ask the CUFA community to learn more about the histories, governments, knowledges, and contemporary issues facing the Lenape Nation and the Native nations across Turtle Island. While the links below are not an exhaustive list of resources, we recommend you take time to see, act, and dream in support of tribal sovereignty and Indigenous futures. As part of this year's conference theme we wish to honor Indigenous teachings and ways of living in relation to both human and more-than-human beings, and we take seriously that we not only need to be a more welcoming organization to Indigenous scholars and educators, but follow their and other members of Indigenous communities' lead toward greater stewardship of the planet and our school communities in order to ensure brighter tomorrows for future generations.

"Nothing was discovered. Everything was already loved."
