Officers

Thea is a first year Biomedical Engineering PhD student in the Erickson Lab. She is passionate about the development of point of care diagnostic devices for human and animal health. She is originally from Limassol, Cyprus and received her Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. In her free time, she loves to bake and hang out with friends and her cat, Akis.

Faith is a first year Biomedical Engineering PhD student. She joined Dr. Mingming Wu's lab, which is part of the Biological and Enviromental Engineering (BEE) department. She is Kenyan born, but Alabama raised. Thus, she received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In the lab, she is passionate about cancer research. Outside of it, she is passionate about reading and tv shows.

Mary-Jean is better known as MJ. MJ is from Northern Virginia and went to the University of Virginia (UVA) as an undergraduate. At UVA, she did protein engineering research to find an efficient and green nanoparticle synthesis technique using a protein called silicatein - found natively in marine sea sponges. Outside the lab, she enjoyed reading fantasy books, taking walks at sunset, and hiking around Ithaca.
