MISSION STATEMENT: CTSFSDA promotes the education and recruitment of school food service personnel to improve their status. This promotion is to maintain and further develop high standards for school food service programs to directly improve services and offerings to the students of Central Texas.

My adventure in Child Nutrition began 19 years ago after spending 10 year as a clinical dietitian and then food service manager at Metropolitan and NorthEast Methodist Hospital. I graduated with a nutrition degree from Texas A&M University and moved to Oklahoma for 3 years to get my Masters and dietetic training at The University Central Oklahoma. My Child Nutrition career has taken me on a tour of San Antonio with positions at North East ISD, Southwest ISD, Northside ISD and now South San Antonio ISD.

I have been with ECISD for almost 20 years. As the Child Nutrition Coordinator for ECISD, I oversee compliance and operations of our program. I have served several terms on the Texas 20 Advisory board; and have held multiple board member positions of our local and state TASN association. I have served multiple terms as the CTSFSDA Secretary, and I am excited to continue serving in this new role.

I have been part of East Central ISD most of my life as a student, alumni, parent, employee, and grandparent. I love my family, district, community, and Child Nutrition team. Those I serve and the importance of what we provide, make my job fulfilling and enjoyable.

I have over 10 years of Child Nutrition experience. This profession has opened up many opportunities for me in my career path including teaching for TASN and education service centers. I have been involved with CTSFSDA for many years and have served on the board in all capacities, but am currently serving as Treasurer. This organization has contributed to my career growth not only with the many educational resources but also by the networking it provides for all.

I’m a seasoned food service professional, with over 25 years of experience. Throughout my career, I have held key positions in various companies. Currently, I serve in my new role as the Director of Child Nutrition Food Services, overseeing three campuses at George Gervin Academy in San Antonio and our George Gervin Prep Academy in Arizona. I hold the following credentials: (CDM)-Certified Dietetics Manager and a (CFPP)-Certified Food Protection Professional. I’m currently working on my bachelor’s in Nutrition Science.

I have called San Antonio home for the past five years, a city I share with my beloved partner. I enthusiastically advocate for School Nutrition by membership Associations with SNA, TASN, TX-ANFP, PTA, and now CTSFSDA. My love for food extends beyond my professional life, as I enjoy cooking, traveling, and indulging in international cinema. I’m Passionate about making a difference. I’m deeply committed to my work and strive to give back to my community.
