1. Do your research! Read up on assistive technology when you are striving to use it for a particular purpose conduct research as to the best supports and applications
2. Continue to learn! Even if you have found an application, website, or other piece of technology to help, remember that technology is always changing and developing and you should frequently search for content that can support you in your endeavours
3. Be Creative! If you cant find exactly what you need create it! Or find software that you can integrate together to support your efforts.
4. Have a Goal! What is the goal you have for your student(s)? Use this goal as your number one factor in determining which assistive technology is most appropriate for your specific purpose. There are many applications out there - but not all will be useful in helping you reach your goals for your students - so search and use wisely!
