The Community and Technical College (CTC) Special Interest Group invites self-nominations from individuals interested in serving as inaugural Chair, a three-year term (two years as Chair, and one year as Past Chair). This position may be held by a single Chair or Co-Chairs. If you are interested in serving as a Co-Chair, you may submit a self-nomination with a partner or indicate your willingness to be paired with one.

The inaugural Chair(s) of the CTC SIG will provide leadership in finalizing the group's foundational structure, governance, and key activities. Much of the groundwork has been laid, and the primary focus will be on reviewing, refining, and implementing existing plans.
Reviewing and making any necessary refinements to the SIG’s mission, focus, and charge (largely completed).
Finalizing the leadership structure, including top leadership roles and any sub-groups.
Clarifying and documenting roles and duties for leadership positions.
Reviewing and refining the process for recruitment and election, ensuring alignment with POD’s goals of equity and inclusion.
Confirming term lengths, limits, and cycles for leadership roles.
Reviewing and revising the criteria and process for SIG membership, ensuring accessibility and lowering participation barriers.
Ensuring that outlined sub-groups for signature work and activities are staffed with engaged members.
Developing and implementing a meeting schedule for the SIG as a whole and for the leadership team, including frequency, modalities, structure, and purpose.
Reviewing and revising policies and guidelines to ensure clarity and effectiveness.
Leading the completion of the SIG’s Governance Manual entry, ensuring alignment with the Governance Manual Style Guide.
Submitting the final Governance Manual entry to the Core Committee via the SIG’s Core representative for review and approval.
If additional time is needed, submitting a petition to Core for an extension of the foundational year.
The inaugural Chair(s) will play a critical role in ensuring that the SIG is set up for long-term success, with inclusive and sustainable governance practices.
