Our Origins & Growth

In 2018, the CSU San Marcos Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) was established to serve as a representative body for students interested in developing both soft and critical skills within the field of Human Resources. The organization emphasizes networking opportunities with HR professionals, awareness of HR related events throughout San Diego County, and the cultivation of a community that shares relevant and impactful information within the HR profession.

As CSU San Marcos SHRM has grown, new members have continued to expand and elevate the organization, bringing fresh perspectives that reflect the evolving demands of the modern workforce and ultimately fulfilling the founder’s original vision of community.

Today, CSU San Marcos SHRM remains grounded in these core values while embracing progressive ideas that drive innovation within the organization, the CSUSM campus, and the broader community.
