Hosted by Counseling Association for Advocacy and Development at Columbus State University
We will be offering access to this conference for free to make it as accessible as possible for professionals seeking CEU and networking experience. However, we are highlighting local and national mental health programs that focus on grief recovery and special topics within grief counseling. We ask that you consider donating to one of these incredible organizations to help them continue the work they are doing for community members affected by grief. If you are interested in being highlighted at a future event, please contact us.
Grief Recovery After Substance Passing (GRASP) was created to offer understanding, compassion, and support for those who have lost someone they love through addiction and overdose. Too many times we suffer not only the death of the person we love, but we become isolated in our grief. We feel, and too many times it is true, that no one understands our pain. But at GRASP, we do. We have suffered this same kind of loss and we have found the love and connection that only those who have lived this loss can give another. And while the pain of this loss will always be with us, we have found through GRASP that we don’t have to walk the road that is our pain alone. We walk it together; hand in hand and heart to heart.
Rachel's Gift focuses on supporting individuals and families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or an infant. They partner with hospitals, mental health agencies and communities to offer training regarding ambiguous loss and grieving. They also offer support groups and grief processing interventions for those who have experienced this loss.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a leader in suicide prevention and mental health crisis care. Since its inception, the Lifeline has engaged in a variety of initiatives to improve crisis services and advance suicide prevention for all, including innovative public messaging, best practices in mental health, and groundbreaking partnerships. They also offer support resources for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
We are pleased to offer CEUs for conference attendance through Columbus State University Continuing and Professional Education. If you are interested in receiving credit, please make sure to denote this on your registration form.
