The Google IT Support Professional Certificate courses are normally $50 per month. Through a generous grant from Google, students who are in the Computer Support Specialist Program may participate for free.

All students that are part of the Computer Support Specialist Program are able to participate in the Google IT Support Professional Certificate. There are links from the MJC Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) which will take you to it. The Google courses uses Single Sign-On from the Canvas LMS, so you do not need to sign in again for the Google courses.

The 5 required courses of the Google IT Support Professional Certificate Program can be completed in 6 to 8 months by dedicating about 5 to 10 hours per week. Depending on your previous knowledge and experience, it may take more or less time.

However, they are have some overlap and cover some of the same topics, so you will be learning the material in two different ways. They are very similar and compliment each other. How do I qualify for the Google IT Support Professional Certificate scholarship grant?
The Google IT Support Professional Certificate program is offered as a grant to students who are enrolled in the Computer Support Technician (Level 1) Certificate of the Computer Support Specialist Program. In order to qualify for the Google IT Support Professional Certificate grant, the student must complete the first course ELTEC 300 Introduction to Applied Technology with an “A” grade. Students may also qualify for the Google IT Support Professional Certificate grant if they have earned (passed) any of these certifications which are part of the Computer Support Technician (Level 1) Certificate of the Computer Support Specialist Program.
