Short term Individual Counseling
The school counseling office can provide a safe space for your child to open up about their feelings during the school day. Student can use a self referral system outside of my office anytime through out the school day to talk with me. Parents are also able to email or call me to refer their child for counseling services. During individual counseling sessions, I have a solution based counseling approach and use a variety of CBT related resources to help students process their emotions.
Small Group Counseling
There are a variety of small groups throughout the school year on different topics. Small groups allow personalized interventions to multiple students at once. Small groups last 6-8 weeks with 3-5 students in each group. During each group we discuss different skills, practice different strategies, and do a different activities. Classroom Guidance
Guidance lessons are designed to be preventative in nature, teaching students skills they need to grow and develop in the academic, career and personal/social arenas. Social Emotional Learning lessons are important and help increase the self-awareness, academic achievement and positive behaviors.
