NextCom Activity @ CDC 2024: Early Career Lunch

The IEEE Control Systems Society NextCom is hosting an Early Career Lunch for graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers attending the CDC 2024.

Graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and early career researchers are warmly invited to a special lunch session. This lunch will be a perfect opportunity to meet new peers and to make a game plan for the rest of your conference agenda. It is also a chance to meet members of the newly formed NextCom committee within the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) and learn about upcoming resources, workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at supporting early career members of our community. All are welcome!

NextCom Activity @ ACC 2024: Lake Cruise Event

The IEEE Control Systems Society NextCom is hosting a lake cruise for graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers attending the American Control Conference, 2024. This will be an evening of celebration, networking, and sightseeing aboard a two-deck yacht! Dinner food will be provided.

Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 @ 8 - 11 pm (boarding starts at 7:30 pm)

Harbourfront West, Pieir, Toronto (next to the conference venue)

About the Cruise:

The ship named OBSESSION III is a 78' beautiful motor yacht. Her main salon is large and spacious, featuring a raised area for live music or a head table. She can comfortably hold up to 190 guests. The real treat here however is the upper deck -- Obsession III has a fully retractable roof! Your guests can enjoy the largest dance deck in any weather. Our two-deck ship boasts an elegant dining room with scenic windows. Our cruise director and friendly crew will give your guests the individual attention you deserve.

Your captain will pilot the Obsession III through the Toronto island lagoons, allowing your guests to experience the intrinsic beauty of this special area. Discover Toronto Harbour, and capture spectacular views of Toronto's magnificent panoramic skyline.

Please note that the boat space is presently limited to 60 attendees. In case there is more interest than space, the first 15 sign-ups will be guaranteed a spot on the boat and the rest of the attendees be selected via a random lottery, with additional priority given to first-time ACC attendees.

This breakfast will be a perfect opportunity to meet new peers and to make a game plan for your conference agenda. It is also a chance to meet members of the newly formed NextCom committee within the Control Systems Society and learn about upcoming resources, workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at supporting early career members of our community.
