Mrs. Pendergast (Instructional Assistant)

Hello! My name is Mrs. Pendergast, I am so excited to share my year with your child in First Grade.

I grew up in Cambridge Massachusetts with my parents and eight siblings.

I met my husband Jim while still living in Mass! We married and his job as an Army soldier of over 20 years took us away from Massachusetts. During this time, we were blessed with our Daughter Tara and son Marc who got to see the world with us.

We retired from the military in 1994. After a brief return to New England living through two winters, we decided to try out Raleigh, North Carolina where my oldest brother lived. We grew to love it and never turned back. I continued my career in banking for another 10 years and wanted change. I decided to choose a new career that I always wanted to do. One I would embrace, love and have a passion for and that’s teaching and working with children. This is when I joined

Wake County Schools in 2005. I worked one year in Cary, then 9 years at Riverbend Elementary. This year I start year 17 with the school system and year 8 at Sycamore Creek. I have been fortunate to work with Kindergarten, First Grade and second Grade!

Jim and I currently have five grandkids and two great grandkids whom, are our world!
