Scouting for Food

This event has scouts and families place flyers at houses letting people in Westchester know that we will be collecting food that they leave on their doorstep on a certain day.

Then, scouts will pickup the food and return it to the community church in the morning of the day of pickup.

Finally, Pack 73 donates all the food collected to the Westchester Food Pantry and Food Pantries in surrounding areas.

Camping

About once or twice a year, Pack 73 will go camping. At these camp spots, we do fun activities like hiking, making s'mores, and other activities.

These places are beautiful and a lot of scouts enjoy the camping trips that we do as a pack.

Pinewood Derby

The annual Pinewood Derby event is a favorite among scouts and the crowd. For this, scouts will get their car cut into a shape of their choice. Then, they will get to paint it and decorate it to make it look cool and unique. Also, they put wheels and axles on it so you know, it goes down the track pretty fast.

Then, on race day scouts' cars will race against each other's cars in races including 6 cars.  These thrilling races are both fun to participate in and watch too!

Pack Hikes

Every other month during the scouting year, there will be a day where scouts can choose to go on a pack. These are normally relatively 30 minutes to an 1 hour long and we hike beautiful trails relatively close to the church. 

These hikes are beautiful and a great way to look at the beautiful nature outdoors.

Scout Sunday

Every February, Pack 73 does Scout Sunday which scouts from Pack 73 and Troop 73 where they go to a church service at the Community Church and do flag ceremony. They also stay for the service and the pastor talk about scouting for the service and we also do some songs as well during the service. 

Blue and Gold

The last event in the scouting year, Blue and Gold honors the "Arrow of Light" den as they move into Boy Scout Troop 73. This is also where other scouts (excluding Arrow of Light) move up to the next rank in Cub Scouts. We also normally have food and sometimes live entertainment too.
