First Pack Meeting of the Season - Sept. 10, 2024 @ 6 pm
Cub Scout Pack 756 is determined to provide both our scouts and their families with a fun, safe, and dependable environment of adventure, socialization, and structure. Like many programs available for our children to participate in, Cub Scout Packs like ours require funding to ensure that our children get the most out of this experience. In order to secure this funding Pack 756 utilizes two specific means, annual dues for each participating scout, and fundraising opportunities.
The fundraising tools in particular are our primary means of funding the needs of the pack for items such as event / adventure expenses, materials, recruitment, and administration requirements. These tools can also assist in offsetting, or in some cases outright cutting, costs of scout dues which can be taxing for families with more that one scout in a pack.
It is necessary for all participating families in Cub Scouts to be active in one form or another to ensure that our children get the best and most out of scouting. This is why we at Pack 756 encourage all members to assist in our fundraising events.
Below you will find more information about our current fundraising tools and how you and your scout can make our mission a success!
50% of the fundraising earnings are set aside specifically to assist in offsetting the annual pack dues required for each scout.
Scouts who actively participate in the fundraising efforts are eligible to have a portion of these funds credited toward their annual dues. If the portion is significant enough a scout could potentially cover their dues fully.
Example:
The Pack earns 30% commission on $10,000 in popcorn which is $3,000.
The Pack sets aside $1,500 of the $3,000 (or 50%) for scout's Pack dues.
Suzie sells $1,000 out of the $10,000 in popcorn which means she sold 10% of the $10,000 in popcorn.
Suzie then is credited 10% of the $1,500 set aside for a scout's Pack dues.
Suzie earns $150 toward her Pack dues.
Notes:
Any amount credited to a scout is only valid toward offsetting the cost of Pack dues and is not refundable, transferable, or otherwise payable to the scout or the scout's family. Any credited funds not used for the specific purpose of offsetting the cost of a scout's Pack dues is forfeited back to the Pack.
In the event a scout's dues are fully covered in accordance with this policy, any overage of credited funds will be applied to a sibling's Pack Dues. In the event there are no siblings or the sibling(s) also have their dues fully covered, the overage of credit will return back to the Pack.
For every Camp Card (Discount Card) sold the scout will earn 50% of the cards cost as credit toward their annual Pack dues.
Example:
Bobby sells 20 Camp Cards at $5.00 each for a total of $100. He is credited $2.50 per card sold for a total of $50.
From the 20 Camp Cards sold, Bobby earns a total of $50 toward his annual pack dues.
Notes:
Camp Card fund raising is historically done during the spring half of the scouting season (January - May). Credit earn towards dues during this period will be applied toward next seasons dues which are typically due in December.
