CSHP - Canine Unit

INFORMATION

Our K9 division is an important cornerstone for the department. Canine helps in situations like locating paraphernalia such as drugs & guns and other miscellaneous illegal items. Thanks to the dogs incredible sense of smell, they're able to sniff out danger in the line of duty whilst not always having to enter the suspect or person of interests vehicle,. This allows us to be more prepared and aware of the potential increasing danger from higher-risk stops and dispatch calls. We train our handlers to be the strongest K-9 force in the area and work very hard to uphold a professional, friendly workplace for our Troopers, reliable, and smart emergency response for those who need us. K9 will always answer the call.

K9 SEARCH AND RESCUE

K9 search and rescue is a team within the canine division that provides services number of type of search or rescue, from complicated situations, to a person getting in trouble whether its a person that got stuck in the wild or one that is being held at an unknown place. Search and Rescue will be there for him! Thanks to our Dogs senses and skills we are able to achieve our result in a very fast and efficient way, that is what makes us stand out in the field.

K9 VAPORWAKE

K9 Vaporwake is a team that was picked very carefully and is built from our best K9 operators and dogs. The team is trained to respond to those high priority calls, ones that require patience and stealth. Our operators are trained to multi task since they are required to operate their dog and be highly alert of their environment. The team usually will respond to Calls that count "Explosive", its important to have a team trained for that matter as we need sterilized and Efficient Work flow. There's a lot that we are not able to tell you about "Vaporwake" but if we see that you fit within our criteria's you might find yourself learning it yourself.

K.9. Commander T. Tommy

Hello, I am T. Tommy, I transferred in CSHP on 7/7/23 at the rank of Master Trooper. I transferred in at K9 Command, and worked to help keep K9 a respectable subdivision. I went on K9 Reserves for a little bit. But as soon as I came off reserves, I got back to rebuilding K9 to be the best it can be! I will continue to work hard to maintain its excellence. Because I strive to maintain a professional, friendly environment for our Canine Handlers. And to be as welcoming and supportive as possible, because I believe that happy troopers make for better troopers.
