The Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineers (CSME) was founded in 1970 with the goal of creating a single organization that represents the identity of Canadian mechanical engineers and technologists. CSME is a constituent society of the Engineering Institute of Canada.

CSME operates at the local, regional and national levels to provide a wide range of professional development activities for mechanical engineers.

The CSME BCIT Chapter club is a student-run organization dedicated to representing and supporting the mechanical engineering students of BCIT. Our primary goal is to foster knowledge and education to help our members grow into industry-ready engineering graduates.

Our main goals are to connect our members with the professional community through various networking events and provide the necessary tools for students to succeed and enjoy school-life through extracurricular programs and projects. 

We also aim to educate mechanical engineering students about the necessary qualifications that will enable them to progress in their careers and provide the bridge between  connecting the academic environment of BCIT to the real world.
