Digital Media Exploration

Project Description

In this project I was able to ethically find and share different types of digital media. I was able to use creative commons media and credit the sources that I found them from., ensure the publishers were credited for the work.

I found this image on Creative Commons by searching San Diego, and was downloaded using Flickr for the original size.

The licensing terms of this picture are CC By-2.0, which states:

You are free to:

Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.

Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.

Animation Sample- Gif

This animation was found on Deviantart.com. I then saved the Gif to my picture folder and uploaded it to my website.

The gif displays an animation of my favorite Pokémon named Lucario.

I was not able to find any licensing for this GIF so I will credit and link to the original source and follow the TASL rule of thumb, which stands for Title, Author, Source, and License.

I found this audio file on Freesound.org. I liked the sound as it reminded me of music your would hear in the early 2000's when loading up a game.

I embedded this video from YouTube of one of my favorite golf coaches online.The video contains information and tips on how to hit your fairway woods and hybrids better from the ground.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find any usage policy or licensing information for this channel or video. I will credit and link to the original source and follow the TASL rule of thumb, which stands for Title, Author, Source, and License.

Lesson Learned

This project was very insightful. In todays digital age it is very easy to repost and reuse content on the internet with unintentionally taking credit for others work. This project was a good reminder to be aware and ethical with you the use of content on the internet and adequately crediting ideas/work of others on the internet. The use of creative commons will also be a very useful tool that I will be using in the future. Overall, this project was enjoyable and taught me effective ways to credit and share media online!
