🌸Unit 3 talks about Social Media and how much we use it in our daily lives
🌸I took the “Am I ADDICTED to social media?” quiz, and it said that I have a healthy relationship with Social Media.
"You have a HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP with social media - well done! Congratulations! Psychologists estimate that as many as 5 to 10% of Americans meet the criteria for social media addiction today. But luckily, that's not you! Not checking social media every few minutes doesn't make you feel anxious, as you prefer to live 'in the moment' rather than through your apps. You use social media to your advantage, at work and to connect with friends and family, but you know when to put it away. Keep it up!"
🌸 I spent around 9-10 hours a week on my social media, because I mostly play video games, watch movies or TV shows or do homework.
🌸I find the topic of misinformation very interesting because social media can both help and harm people. On one hand, it helps people learn about news and events very quickly. It also allows people to share ideas and stay connected.
🌸On the other hand, social media can spread false information very fast. Many people worry that users believe everything they see online without checking if it is true. Because of this, people need to think carefully about the information they read on social media.
🌸Oh my... my opinion on Social Media, you ask?
Well... simply saying it's both good and bad is boring, so lets pick a side. I think it is great. People can speak with someone across the world in seconds! We can learn about the newest inventions just by going online. One thing that I really like is that we can see how other people live and build up the courage to live the life that we want. We are finally able to find people who agree with our views, be it out neighboor or a random person from another country. Social Media is great, in my very humble opinion.
🌸I learned that I am actually doing much better about my social media time than I originally thought, well... I do spend most of my time playing video games, but it is better than doomscrolling!
🌸Let's see what else... There was a timeline of social media that I did not know much about. That was interesting to look at.

🌸For this project, I had to find different types of media, such as images, video, audio, and animation, and properly cite where we found the source.
🌸I found this picture on the Creative Commons website
🌸"Children kabuki theater in Nagahama (warrior Kumagai, 12 y.o.)
Warrior Kumagai Jiro Naozane from the play "Ichi-no-Tani Futaba Gunki", act "Kumagai Jinya"
Kodomo kabuki ("children kabuki") performances are the highlight of the Hikiyama Matsuri in Nagahama,. Every year on April 15th, children perform theatrical plays on movable stages.
Like in real kabuki theater, boys perform both male and female roles and like in real kabuki, they fully engage in their acting. They even have a loud claque (大向う) applauding their appearances and poses."

🌸I was thinking long and hard about which audio to choose and realized that there is only one correct answer... LIZARD!
🌸I had to download the audio to my Google Drive and copy it from there, then double-click in the ePortfolio to select Embed.
🌸I couldn't find license for the audio
🌸 I got this gif from tenor website
🌸This is a pixel bonfire from Dark Souls games; it brings me comfort, so I decided to use it.
🌸I couldn't find a license for the gif.

🌸Here is a video of my cat Cygnus. I added an audio to the background, a sticker booping his nose, and extra cool sunglasses at the end. I also cut the video, making it shorter than the original.
🌸This lesson was all about licensing the works of others, making sure that creators will get credit for their work.
🌸I learned how to edit a video and how to properly license it.
🌸 I also learned a different way to upload a file to ePortfolio using Google Drive and Embed.
