One of the coolest things I did in this unit was exploring the AllMusic database to see how it actually works. I realized it’s a Relational Database (RDBMS) because of how it handles complex connections, like one style of music applying to hundreds of artists or different singers appearing on the same track. I looked at how you can filter by things like release date or genre, and how the database keeps everything standardized across albums and compositions. It was a great way to see how a professional system uses specific fields like "duration" or "recording location" to organize a massive amount of information.
In Unit 6, I learned how raw facts get turned into actual decisions using the DIKW pyramid. We started with the basics of databases, like how a field is just one piece of info and a record is a whole row of related data, all managed by a DBMS. The main part was seeing how Data (just raw numbers) becomes Information when you give it context, and then becomes Knowledge when you use it to hit a goal. Finally, Wisdom is using all of that to make a choice that fits your personal values. I also practiced how to properly cite sources and tell the difference between a reliable journal and a random social media post.
For this CSIT101 class, it’s really been about understanding how technology and information work in the real world. I’ve had to handwrite lots of notes on terms like Operating Systems, Open Source Software, and Root Folders to really get the concepts down. We’ve worked on big projects, like my Emerging Technology presentation on Virtual Reality, where I researched how VR is being used for things like stroke recovery and therapy. I even used what I learned to make a graduation sequence diagram to help plan out my move to UMBC, from applying for FASFA to walking the stage. It’s more than just using a computer; it’s about understanding the systems behind the screens and how to handle data responsibly. And finally, from taking data to wisdom by implementing it fully.

Yes, if I were researching this topic, this would be a fine source.
My next source is from NBC news but was specifically written by Erika Edwards and Hallie Jackson. This source is partially reliable because it may be biased; however, it is more reputable because it is a News outlet. NBC News has a very large name; it has a very big reputation. Yes, as news usually has reports and statistics, they are good for academic or professional purposes, making sure that they're true or verifying that they're not biased is something that does come up, though, with this.
So, I'm not sure if this post even counts, but the third is a post on Reddit from
“r/psychology” and I thought I just added a good perspective compared to my other sources that were non-reputable. I would name the user, but they have since deleted the post, so I don't think I can find it. This is unreliable because it is clearly just stated opinion; it has no factual basis. The person who posted these even states, "Am I missing some aspect of sociology/psychology that'll explain why it's tearing us apart” (“Reddit - the Heart of the Internet”) If your purpose is to consider opinion, then sure, but most likely not; this is just a thought blurted out.
