Adobe experienced a cyberattack that compromised 38 million active users and accessed data from unused or deactivated accounts. The hackers stole user data and Photoshop source code. Adobe shifted products to a subscription model, requiring users to register and provide payment card details. The attack resulted in Adobe paying $1m to settle a lawsuit and avoiding jail time for the hacker.

The federal police commissioner is undercover and working with domestic agencies and international networks to track the hackers. By using updated antivirus software and improved malware security, this ransomware attack may have been avoided.

I learned by searching the news in Google News for articles on anything placed in the News. I learned new terms for different cyber attacks. Also, I didn't realize how many attacks happen even to big companies and it may cost too much for them to recover from the damages. I learned that cyber attacks are a pervasive and growing threat in today's society.
This certificate is a requirement for the CSIT Cybersecurity assignment I had to finish at CCBC in order to educate myself about hackers and avoid falling for scams.
