10/19/19: First blog entry! I just created this site, our proposal and low fidelity prototype can be found here. So far we have done storyboarding, low fidelity prototyping, and have discussed the aim of this project in our proposal.
10/20/19: Use Case #1 - System reposition:
Added system anchor (a sphere left to the reference surface) and ability to move the whole system around by pinch and dragging on the anchor
10/23/19: Use Case #2 - Visual feedback for gaze and selection:
Implemented (as a unit test) surface material changes when gazed at and selected at as part of user feedback
10/24/19: Created term plan which can be found here.
10/28/2019:
Use Case #3 - Surface tilt/rotation:
Implemented rotation using MRTK bounding boxes, with rotation handles always visible
10/29/2019:
Use Case #3 - Surface tilt/rotation:
Implemented rotation using bimanual manipulation
11/02/2019: Demo accepted to Frameless 2019! 🎉
11/04/2019: We have been continuously doing user testing on the current system to learn what users think of the usability and what the major areas of improvement are. The survey questions and results found here. This is a big part of our needfinding to effectively design a system we need to know what the users want and also what are the big usability problems we need to fix. We summarize all of our needfinding here. You can also learn more about our evaluation plans on the evaluation page.
11/05/2019: This week we are interviewing domain experts. It took a little longer than we expected to schedule interviews but they are still very valuable to our project because it will allow us to design this correctly for the domain. More about our interviews can be found on the needfinding page
11/06/2019: This afternoon we conducted our first domain expert interview and got some interesting insights.
11/07/2019: Today we wrote our evaluation plan using many of the evaluation methods presented in class. This plan can be found here.
11/08/2019: Implemented pin widget manipulator for surface tilting
11/12/2019: Surface fixed to be rotating around center. Pin widget manipulator added surface color change as feedback
11/14/2019:
11/18/2019: Added color change for dragged surface in system demo.

12/5/19 Today we did our final project presentation. The slides can be found on the project design page.
12/12/19 Today was the poster presentation. Our poster can be found on the project design page.
