Radar sweeps and GPS signals are constantly displaying live locations of enemy and friendly aircrafts.
The enemy control center during the Uranium plant mission tracks the pilot's fighter jets position and type of aircraft, disrupting location and technology privacy.
Using satellite imagery the Top Gun leadership group was able to find the secret Uranium plant underground in the center of a canyon in enemy territory. Additionally the satellite view was able to detect threats in the area including surface to area missiles, capable of shooting down jets unless they are below a certain altitude.
The Top Gun and Dark star programs were kept classified and remote to keep mission and training details secret to enemy forces.
Through GPS jamming and stealth aircrafts the Top Gun team was mostly able to keep their location and identity from enemy aircraft and defense mechanisms.
