The Crusader Choir is a group of talented, enthusiastic, and dedicated singers. This is an entertaining show choir committed to performing musical selections from a variety of musical styles and genres. Duets, solos, and small group numbers are also performed. The performances range from a variety of events, from collaboration with grammar school choirs to outside community outreach events. This adaptable ensemble's performances with its engaging repertoire along with lively movement share the joy of music everywhere they perform.
Crusader Choir Mission Statement:
To foster and perpetuate music as an art form and an essential component of the secondary school curriculum
To encourage students to be able to share their greatest possible potential
To establish criteria and standards for musical performances that insures the musical/educational integrity of Riordan High School
To provide musical opportunities that will enrich the lives of Riordan High School students and aid in the development of a life-long appreciation of music

Crusader Choir Information
The Crusader Choir is open to all students Grades 9-12. Choir falls under two categories: a club and a class for credits. Choir meets on two different days to accommodate the different dismissal times. The Choir website has the meeting schedule, sheet music, and upcoming events. Choir members are to check the website weekly for any changes. There will be special times where all choir members must rehearse together for an upcoming performance.
Choir Class Schedule:
Choir is a class that takes place after the last block. Although it is after school, it is still a class.
Frosh/Soph: Tuesday – 2:00 p.m. Some weeks are the Band Room. Some weeks are the Chapel. Always check for rehearsal location on the website.
Juniors/Seniors – 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel
Choir Class Credits
Choir Class members will receive 2.5 credits per semester. To receive the 2.5 credits, you must participate fully in events per semester. On the Choir schedule you will see the different rehearsal times, Attendance will be taken at every rehearsal and turned in and you will receive a letter grade.
For all rehearsals, you must stay for the complete rehearsal.
VERY IMPORTANT
Choir is a class is like any other class, both academic and extracurricular. You must be on time for class. Being excused must be cleared first by Mrs. Flaviani and it is under the discretion of Mrs. Flaviani if students can be excused.
Even if not taken as a class, the requirements are the same.
Choir Outfits and Garment Bags
Each choir member will receive an outfit and garment bag and shoe bag. Shoes and Boys purple shirts can be ordered online. The link will be on the Choir website.
Plays/Musicals
Details have been worked out for those that are in both the plays and the musicals. Mr. Callaghan and I will continue to work together to make sure that everything goes smoothly for both.
