Crunchyroll Manga was a digital manga anthology published by Crunchyroll, LLC in North America. It began distribution on October 30, 2013.[1] The service launched with a lineup of twelve titles, with chapters released simultaneously with their Japanese release. Crunchyroll Manga provides English speaking readers with officially licensed editions of the latest installments of popular manga published by Futabasha, Kodansha, Kadokawa Shoten and Shnen Gahsha soon after their release in Japan.[1]
On February 17, 2018, Crunchyroll announced that Kodansha titles excluding Fairy Tail would be removed from the manga section of the site on March 1. The titles are still available for purchase as eBooks.[4] On March 1, 2018, Crunchyroll announced that they would simultaneously publish new Kodansha manga titles as they release in Japan.[5]

Manga chapters are available to read online through the website or on web-enabled devices through Crunchyroll or an official app. Readers can sign up for an All-Access or Manga subscription for full access to several manga titles. Anime and Drama subscribers can read only the latest chapters with limited advertisements.[7]
Hey premium account guy here. While I know we all know CR doesn't have the biggest manga library, it's a service I do use now and again to browse and me and my roommate keep up with a couple titles regularly. It's a place where I can legally enjoy following Space Brothers. I LIKE to think it's part of the reason we pay month to month.
That said, it's still using Flash to view the manga on site with premium. You know, the format not officially supported by Flash's developers or major browsers as of December 1st 2020. It was always a bit awkward to browse before, but this is unacceptable. You have to jump through some hoops to get flash to play on Chrome (and the idea of malicious program vulnerabilities has NOT escaped me) and for some browsers like Safari, I've heard you can't enable it at all. Basic functionality is being tossed away at this point. When is this going to be fixed? There's no customer service channel to reach out to even as a paying member.
Can someone get an official response from them or maybe boost this? Will there be some sort of retroactive benefit made to those who are paying for a service they can't use? Do we need to reach out to manga publishers who have ties with them?
Whenever I look up ANY manga nothing ever shows up. Like they have next to NOTHING. The only manga it shows me are the popular ones. Nothing else. Does Crunchyroll manga just suck THAT bad or us there something wrong?
Manga readers are going to have one fewer option to get their fix next month, as Crunchyroll is shutting down its manga distribution service on December 11. Despite launching over a decade ago, the Crunchyroll Manga app will shut down for the final time, leaving fans needing to pick up yet another subscription service to keep up-to-date with many of the titles that the service had covered.
I've been considering getting a Crunchyroll membership primarily for the manga rather than the anime. Looking on their site, Crunchyroll does not have anyway to organize and parse through their manga library other than alphabetically. They do not have a way to search by genre or anything like that.
On the Android mobile app there looks to be two main filters featured and newest, other than that you can search for manga in their manga store. This allowed me to find what looks like all the Attack on Titan manga. It looks like it also has most of the Fairy Tail manga too. (I don't want to check all 50+ books) It however doesn't have One Piece, Naruto, or Bleach in their store.

Viz Manga will cost $1.99 a month, and the service will give fans access to over 10,000 chapters of manga from genres such as action, horror, slice-of-life, and fantasy. The service includes such well-known manga as Junji Ito's GYO Uzumaki, as well as Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2 and Inyuyasha.
When combined with a Shonen Jump subscription, manga readers will have access to over 25,000 chapters of manga with "further expansion in the works," according to Viz Media. The release of Viz Manga will now serve as direct competition to Crunchyroll's manga service, which was released back in 2013.
More interestingly, the service will release English chapters of ongoing manga the same day it releases in Japan. This will likely help curb the ongoing manga industry's issue of piracy, as unauthorized translations tend to appear hours after a new manga chapter is published in Japan.
"With this new development, VIZ Media builds on its history of innovation and experimentation," Viz Media CEO Ken Sasaki said. "We want our world-class creators to reach as wide an audience as possible while reinforcing that manga should be read from the official source."
All premium subscription plans are ad-free, but the Fan premium plan is the most affordable. It includes access to manga, simulcasts, and all the content on Crunchyroll, but it limits streaming to only one device at a time. The Mega Fan monthly subscription is priced slightly higher, increasing simultaneous streaming to four devices and adding the ability to view content offline. Also included in the Mega Fan tier is early access to limited merch and store discounts. The highest subscription plan, Ultimate Fan, includes an annual swag bag, a limited-run collectible figure, and even more store discounts.
According to new reports, Crunchyroll informed users on Friday that Kodansha's manga titles will be taken down from its manga service beginning in this month. All titles which have ended serialization will be taken down from Crunchyroll on February 28. From that point forward, fans can still purchase the titles as eBooks on Crunchyroll Manga or through sellers like Amazon.
So far, it seems there is only one Kodansha title that will not be affected by this shift. Fairy Tail will still be available on Crunchyroll Manga as all 30 volumes will be available on the service starting March 1. The series wrapped last year once creator Hiro Mashima published its final chapter, and Kodansha released its final manga volume not too long ago.
