Culturally Relevant Pedagogy is a theoretical framework in which teachers celebrate student's home cultures and utilizing the well of knowledge they bring to class. Teachers who instruct in a culturally relevant way will implement strategies to ensure academic performance, cultural competence, and sociocultural consciousness.
Over time, researchers have continued to investigate culturally relevant teaching and pedagogy in different communities adding to the body of literature that intersects at culture and education. Some of those researcher are: Gloria Ladson-Billings, Geneva Gay, Django Paris and Samy Alim, and Tyrone Howard, just to name few.
