When we lived in Eastern Montana we visited Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs. This resort was founded in 1929. The natural water temperature there is 108 degrees and it flows at the rate of 900 gallons a minute. Geologists estimate that the source of the spring is 3200 feet below ground, 3/5 of a mile. It’s amazing to think about this continuous up flow of hot water from so deep in the earth.
It is more amazing to think of springs in the ocean. But they are there. “Researchers discovered hot springs in the Pacific Ocean near the Galapagos Islands in 1977 using Alvin, the world’s first deep-sea submersible. They were about 1 ½ miles under the surface. Since then, scientists have found other springs in the Pacific Ocean that appear to be an intrinsic element of the deep-sea ecosystem’s food chain.” (From the Web)
Note the depth and usefulness of the springs: a mile and a half below the floor of the ocean, and essential to the eco-system. We knew nothing about the existence of these springs until 50 years ago. But Job, the biblical character wrote about them thousands of years ago.
“Have you entered the springs of the sea, And walked in the depth of the ocean?” Job 38:16. It is not surprising that these God-created springs have a specific purpose.
The more we learn about nature and the divisions of science, the more we understand about God.

Evolution Has Always Been Based on Faith.
Creation Science is regularly attacked as non-scientific. But what is the scientific method?
Paul S.Weiss a leading American nano scientist* at UCLA says, “All science begins with observation, the first step of the scientific method. At once this delimits (restricts) the scientific domain; something that cannot be observed cannot be investigated by science.”
A true scientist studies what he/she can see. Anything that cannot be observed cannot be scientifically evaluated. Beyond that any claims are simply assumptions, hypotheses, or beliefs- not science.
When critics attack the Bible as not being a textbook on science, their premise is that the Bible is flawed in areas of science. (Read any crossovertheworld.com blog for illustrations of this flawed premise.)
The Bible encourages scientific analysis. Psalm 111:2, “Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them.” The word means investigate, search, seek with care. Truth invites scrutiny. Rather than rejecting close examination, creation says, bring it on.
The investigation of nature was the source of discovery for many men of faith.
Isaac Newton by scientific observation formulated the laws of thermodynamics. He ended up writing 10 times as much on theology as he ever did on math and science. He believed the biblical account of Genesis 1-3. Although he had a skewed view of salvation he did recognize the importance of biblical study.
“Louis Pasteur revolutionized human health with his discoveries in disease prevention, fermentation, and pasteurization. Known as the father of microbiology, Pasteur's work established the germ theory of disease.” He firmly believed in God and embraced the virtues of the Gospel.
Joseph Lister benefitted from Pasteur’s discoveries in regard to antiseptics. He is the father of modern surgery. He confessed, "I am a believer in the fundamental doctrines of Christianity," and believed his life’s work was directed by God.”
Johannes Kepler discovered three laws of planetary motion. He was a devout and committed Christian.
Truth invites scrutiny. Lies reject examination. While many claim “just trust the science,” God says, ”study all you see around you, examine nature closely.” His existence withstands His critics.

Civilization rests on the ability to communicate. Identity, culture, and understanding are only possible through comprehensible communication.
Linguists suggest that language began in sub-Saharan Africa between 200,000 and 50,000 years ago. The earliest communication was through gestures, mimicking sounds, rhythmic grunts, eventually leading to a more organized system of communication. There is no physical evidence for this theory. “Language leaves no fossils.”
It is no surprise that as indispensable as is language, God would not leave the creation of communication to chance. (He leaves nothing to chance.) Linguists believe that a key factor in the spread of language is migration. God is also the engineer of that train.
Communication in some form is eternal. Genesis 1:26 describes God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit saying, “Let us make man in our image.” John 16:13 says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” The Holy Spirit hears the Father and proclaims the truth He has heard.
Genesis 1 is a vocal calling of creation into existence. God said let there be and it was, each day of that first week. The fellowship of God and man in the Garden included conversation. Satan spoke to Adam and Eve.
As long as there were beings who could communicate, language has existed.
A more relevant discussion emerges concerning the distribution of language. The Bible explains that the launching point of language migration is a place called Babel. This occurs about 100 years after the Flood of Noah. The event is narrated in Genesis 11.
Genesis 11:1 Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there.
And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”
And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. And the LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another's speech.” So the LORD dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth. And from there the LORD dispersed them over the face of all the earth.”
Everyone spoke the same language. God created new languages. Then He scattered people around the earth according to their language. If this was a gradual migration to other locations God superintended the locations. God may have physically moved the shared language speakers as He desired. In either case God is responsible for the creation of languages and their disbursement.
