Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship Review for at Home

Parents,

With your child(ren) spending extra time on the computers for online learning, I feel it is prudent for them to have a review about how to remain safe and behave appropriately while online. The content below has already been taught to them this school year, and we review it every new school year. Please consider taking the time to review this information with your child(ren). And please reach out to me with any questions!

Thank you,

Hillary Tolman

Kindergarten Through 2nd Grade

  1. Watch the video entitled “Router’s Birthday Surprise” with your child, found here https://www.netsmartzkids.org/videos/ (scroll down towards the bottom of the page to find the correct video).

  2. Review the 4 Rules of Internet Safety (1. If anything on the computer makes you feel sad, scared or confused, tell a trusted adult. 2. Never give out personal information, like your name, number and address, without asking a trusted adult for permission first. 3. Never meet face-to-face with anyone you know from the computer. 4. Always use good netiquette, and never be rude or mean online.)
