James Luyirika-Sewagudde: James emigrated almost 50 years ago from Ssesse (a district in central Uganda, located in Lake Victoria) to Chico, California. He currently directs CUS Chico's Office of International Education and was recently chosen as the Outstanding Staff Employee of the Year.

RetroReport in the Classroom - RetroReport is a nonpartisan, independent and nonprofit documentary news organization dedicated to reexamining the news after headlines fade. They have also created lessons to accompany each documents, such as Immigration in the 1990s: Proposition 187, which shows students "how economic and demographic forces affect the strategies of the political parties, and demonstrates how policies like Proposition 187 can produce unintended and surprising consequences. It also draws parallels with some aspects of President Trump's rhetoric on immigration."
