The Centre for Plant Protection Studies (CPPS) was established in April, 1984 in TNAU to coordinate and strengthen teaching, research and extension activities in Plant Protection and Sericulture. Departments of Agricultural Entomology, Plant Pathology, Plant Nematology and Sericulture are the constituents of this Directorate.

Objectives

1. To offer education in Plant protection and the related aspects keeping in view of the changing global scenarios in agriculture and allied subjects
2. To develop cost effective, ecologically sustainable plant protection measures for agricultural, horticultural and forestry and sericigenous crops
3. To facilitate for the effective transfer of plant protection technologies to the stake holders
4. To facilitate development of entrepreneurship among the stake holders in bio-pesticides.
