Under the guidance of my wonderful FFA advisor Mrs. Heezen, I manage the hydroponics systems in the school greenhouse. I grow lettuce and other greens with clean water that is balanced and tested to provide the plants with what they need. The final product is crispy clean greens!

What is Hydroponics?
Hydroponics is growing plants using water instead of soil. I use drip systems, where the water is continually flowing over the plant's roots and supplying everything it needs to grow and prosper. I balance the pH and test to make sure the plants have the nutrients they need- focusing mainly on nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, and calcium. A T-5 LED light provides the plants with light.
