HOW DO I BOOK A TATTOO?
Our books open on the first Friday of each month at 12PM CST (unless otherwise notified). The booking form will be available via https://venue.ink/crispyaura.studio and linked in each of the artists' bio. Filling out the form will put you on the list to be contacted for booking in the following month, and you should hear back within ~2 weeks if your project is chosen. Depending on demand and artist schedules, we may not be able to respond to everyone who submits a form. Whether an artist takes a tattoo request may also depend on if the design, style, and placement you're interested in are something the artist currently offers. If you do not hear back, don't hesitate to submit another request the following month!

CAN I COME IN FOR A CONSULTATION?
If you're interested in working with our artists, we ask that you go through with our booking process outlined above. 

IS THERE A WAITLIST?
If you are hoping to work with a specific artist, any last-minute openings will be announced on their IG stories and shared to the shop's. Otherwise, you can fill out the booking form https://venue.ink/crispyaura.studio and select "first available" - this will allow us to assign your request to artists who may still be accepting bookings for the month, although booking is not guaranteed based on schedule.

DO YOU TATTOO ALL SKIN TONES AND GENDERS?
Absolutely!

DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-INS?
We’re appointment-only at this time and do not accept walk-ins. If a last-minute spot opens up, our artists will post it on their Instagram stories — keep an eye out there!

WHAT IF I WANT A GROUP TATTOO?
For matching tattoos or if you and your friends just want to book your appointments together, fill out the inquiry form once and include everyone's name, contact info, and tattoo descriptions. We will reach out in a group chat to confirm design, prices, and schedule a combined session. Keep in mind that if it is a larger group, it might be more difficult to find a slot in the schedule. For group tattoos, please limit the tattoos to one per person.

HOW MUCH WILL MY TATTOO COST?
The pricing of your piece will depend on the design size, level of detail, placement, and colors if any. This is why it is important to include detailed descriptions in your request form. An estimate will be provided at the time of booking, and final pricing will be determined at appointment time. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work and the client experience, and that is reflected in our pricing. Our artists' minimums range from $200-250 starting rate. Any quote provided is valid for 2 months.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? PARKING?
We are located at 2642 W Chicago Ave with free parking along Chicago Ave and side streets. The 66 bus drops you off right in front at Chicago & Washtenaw!

HOW DO PAYMENTS / DEPOSITS WORK? CAN I RESCHEDULE MY APPT ONCE BOOKED?
A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This deposit goes toward the final cost of your tattoo. You’re allowed one reschedule, as long as you give at least 48 hours' notice. If you notify us with less than 48 hours' notice, your deposit will be forfeited and a new one will be required to rebook. Reschedules must be made within 2 months of your original appointment. If you're more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, your deposit will be void. No-shows without prior communication will not be eligible to reschedule. Thanks for understanding and respecting your artist's time!

CAN I BRING A GUEST?
Yes, but they will have to wait in the front seating area and not be by the workstations when we start working on the tattoo. This is to limit distractions, ensure everyone's safety, and not disrupt the other artists and clients working around us. Thanks for understanding!

CAN I BRING MY PET?
Unfortunately, we do not allow pets or emotional support animals on the premises due to health code and safety concerns. However, if you have a trained and licensed service animal that needs to be present with you, please notify your artist at the time of booking. We will make accommodations as needed to ensure a comfortable experience for you and your service animal.
