Start small. Build a short batch of ammunition or a simple T1 module before committing to a ship.
BPO • Blueprint Original: reusable for manufacturing; eligible originals can be researched for material efficiency (ME), time efficiency (TE), and copied. Manufacturing does not use it up.
BPC • Blueprint Copy: has a limited number of licensed production runs. Manufacturing consumes those runs. Copies cannot themselves be copied or researched for ME/TE. Check remaining runs, ME and TE before buying a contract.
One run is not always one item: ammunition often produces a batch. Check output quantity. Skills and clone restrictions vary by product and activity; read the requirements in-game.
Choose your blueprint: open Industry from the Neocom, find the blueprint in the Blueprints tab, or right-click it and select Use Blueprint.
Select the activity: choose Manufacturing. Research, copying and invention are different activities; unavailable options are greyed out.
Choose the facility: confirm it supports the activity and that you can access it. Compare fees and bonuses before hauling.
Set runs: inspect total output, duration and required materials. Higher ME reduces applicable material requirements; TE reduces applicable job time.
Check input and output: choose the correct material location and delivery location. Materials must be available to the job; verify missing quantities and required skills.
Review the quote: check job cost, wallet, duration, facility and quantities. Start only when everything matches.
Deliver: use the Jobs tab to track completion, then deliver the finished job and collect the output.
Profit = realistic sale proceeds − materials − installation charges − market costs − hauling costs.
Example: 1,000,000 ISK proceeds minus 750,000 materials, 50,000 installation and 100,000 selling/transport costs leaves 100,000 ISK. This is an illustration, not a live price quote. Minerals you mined still have a market value.
Choose a cheap blueprint. Compare buying materials with buying the finished item. Manufacture one small batch, deliver it, record the actual cost and compare with your estimate.
Correct blueprint and runs • skills met • facility access confirmed • materials present • costs understood • output location checked.
