Crick Somme Memorial Gardens are located at the entrance to Millenium and Jubilee Woods on the Yelvertoft Road, Crick, NN6 7TR..
The 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme (2016) provided an opportunity to commemorate the service and sacrifice of those who lost their lives in the battle, to reflect upon the human cost of conflict and to have hope for a more peaceful world.
With the support of the Parish Council it was arranged for the village to have a new memorial to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Somme. It is dedicated to all those who have sacrificed their lives in service of their country and stands in the area of public open space at the start of the all-weather track off the Yelvertoft Road.
A memorial bench has been installed as well as an information board. Poppy seeds have been sown with help of children from the local primary school.
Funding has been approved for an upgraded pathway and information panel. The funding has been generously provided by Crick Parish Council (Community Benefit Fund from Yelvertoft Solar Farm), Crick Ex‑Servicemen’s Club, and the Somme Memorial Fund. This will be installed in September 2026 by Rugby Resin Ltd.
Please go and visit and take a minute or two to enjoy the site. Reflect, and remember.
We are proud to be affiliated with Crick Parish Council and Crick Ex- Serviceman's Club
The memorial is maintained by volunteers.
