Instrument Petting Zoo-

• 4th Graders were introduced to all the instruments for band by their music teacher during in May 2026!

Instrument Testing/Selection- August 1st, 2026 and August 12, 2026

• Students interested in taking Band Class should schedule a time to come and get tested/select an instrument! 

• Students and Parents/Guardians can meet with Mr. Thorne and Arts Music Rep, Heather Ransom!

Creekside Band Quick Start Day!- August 22nd, 2026

This event is designed to give students a strong start on their band journey. New students will break into small groups to get hands-on experience with their instruments. We’ll learn a bit, play a bit, and eat a bit—we might even end the day with a fun performance to show off what we’ve learned!

🎶 Who Should Attend?

• Brand-new students are encouraged to attend the full day.

• Returning students should join us for lunch and the afternoon session.

• Parents/Guardians are invited for lunch and a brief meeting right after.

🗓️ Agenda for the Day:

9:00–9:30 – Registration, Sign-In & Games
9:30–12:00 – Beginner Sessions:
Instrument Assembly, Care & Maintenance, Posture, and First Sounds
12:00–1:00 – Lunch provided by Ms. Rachel & Mr. Bob (a.k.a. Mr. Thorne’s parents!)
1:00–2:00 – Cool Tunes & Instrument Refresher
1:00–2:00 – Parent Meeting

🎺 A Few Notes:

• If your student participated in the Instrument Testing event and ordered through Arts Music, their instrument will be delivered to the school for this event.

• If you used a different music company, are renting from Creekside, or already own an instrument, please bring it with you.

• Students will receive hands-on, small group instruction from professional musicians.

• Parents are welcome from 12:00–2:00 for lunch, games, and the meeting.
