2020 ECR Workshop - York

*** Due to COVID-19, the in-person PhD & ECR Workshop is cancelled. The Workshop will take place July 16-17, 2020 and will be online via Zoom. To register, follow this link. ***

PhD students and early career researchers working on topics in environmental and resource economics are invited to a two-day workshop to be held at York University. Applications are welcome from those based in economics departments, business schools, schools of public policy, etc., researching any aspect of environmental economics, environmental behavior, energy economics, climate change, green business or natural resource problems using theory, empirics or experimental methods.

Each previous edition of the workshop has convened around 20 early-stage researchers from inside and outside Canada from institutions such as Yale, Queens, Amsterdam, UBC, Ottawa, Paris, Columbia, McGill, Berkeley, Alberta, Cornell, Oslo, Toronto, Vienna, Calgary, etc.

Sessions are built around 30 minute presentations, giving participants the chance to expose their ideas and get feedback from junior and senior scholars. Social time will give an excellent opportunity for participants to network, exchange ideas and experiences and get to know each other. The atmosphere will be informal and collegial.

In addition to Toronto-based faculty we have Anna Alberini and Werner Antweiler as keynote guests who will provide feedback on presentations and lead ‘career-craft’ workshops – finding research topics, how to navigate the job market, manage the tenure process, get papers published etc.
