Longarming - what do I need to know to get started?
Follow these few steps to set yourself up for success.
On a Longarm machine, it is necessary to have your backing fabric larger than your top.
This is not really an option so follow these simple rules.
1. Measure your quilt top, for example, if the top measures 50 x 60
2. Add 10 to both numbers, 60 x 70, this is the optimal size for your backing fabric
3. Batting should be larger than the top and equal to or slightly smaller than the backing.
I look forward to working with you.
Should I baste my backing, batting and top together before I arrive?
No. You need to load the 3 pieces on the longarm individually.
I bought a longarm but my retailer does not provide in home training, how will I ever learn this?
I am available to train you, I am happy to come to you and help you learn your machine in your own home.
I got an embroidery machine, can you help me learn how to use it?
Yes I can. Embroidery can seem overwhelming, the basics are the same and together we will get you started.
