Discipline First, Then Diploma

Some people begin their journey with advantages. I began mine with struggle.

College was not easy for me. While many students had brand-new gadgets, laptops, and comfort, I was trying to survive with limited access to technology. There were days when I had to attend classes, do tasks, and manage responsibilities with only my phone. Even simple schoolwork felt harder when you did not have the tools others took for granted.

But hardship has a way of teaching strength early.

I entered college carrying dreams bigger than my circumstances. I pursued a double degree while also finding ways to earn and help myself financially. I continued the small business I started during senior high school, creating bouquets and gifts through Creative Food Trends. It was more than a business; it was one of the reasons I was able to keep going.

Still, balancing studies, business, and personal battles was never easy.

There were nights filled with tears, exhaustion, and self-doubt. There was heartbreak from a relationship that ended. There were business failures, missed expectations, criticism, and moments when it felt like everything was falling apart at once.

But even in those difficult seasons, I kept moving.

My journey into the online world started with over 50 rejections on Upwork. Fifty times I was overlooked. Fifty times I could have stopped believing in myself. But eventually, one client gave me a chance to work as a Social Media Manager for only $40 USD a week.

At that time, I had no idea what a Social Media Manager truly did. I only knew how to use Canva on my iPhone 8.

What started as a small opportunity to help pay for tuition slowly became the foundation of my career.

My first client was a home care services business in the United States. Soon after, I worked with businesses in Dubai, Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. I managed social media pages, created content, and learned skills I never imagined I would master; marketing, branding, email campaigns, and digital growth.

I did not know everything when I started.

There was a time I had no idea what email marketing or Mailchimp was. I did not even own a laptop. But instead of saying no, I asked for the chance to learn. One client believed in me so much that he sent me a laptop so I could continue growing.

That season taught me a lesson I will never forget:

You do not need to know everything before you begin. You only need the courage to start.

As the years passed, my life began to change.

I went from earning $160 USD a month to making over ₱40,000 monthly at just 22 years old. I upgraded from working on an iPhone 8 to owning a Mac M2. I built a career while finishing a self-funded double degree. I became stronger, wiser, and more confident in what I could achieve.

But success was never built alone.

I survived college because of kind people around me. Friends who bought me lunch when I could not afford one. Friends who gave me shoes, supported me, and reminded me I was not alone. Their generosity became part of my story.

In 2024, I made another brave decision. I left one of my jobs to focus on graduation and enjoy life with my classmates. I trusted that if I had built opportunities before, I could build them again.

Two days after graduation, I was hired by a global events company in Australia and increased my income by 30% more.

Later, I moved to Thailand and entered a new chapter as a Math and Science Teacher. It was a different path, but it shaped my resilience, broadened my perspective, and helped me grow not only professionally, but personally.

Looking back now, I realize this journey was never just about money or work.

It was about survival.
It was about growth.
It was about refusing to let humble beginnings decide my future.

There were nights I cried myself to sleep, wondering if life would ever get better. But now I understand those nights were not the end of my story. They were preparing me for the beautiful mornings I prayed for.

If there is one thing my life has taught me, it is this:

Your current situation is not your final destination.
Your lack today does not mean you will lack forever.
Your struggles are not proof that you are failing they may be proof that you are becoming stronger.
