The basic premise is, people learn best when they are actively engaged. Basically, there are 3 types of learning engagement:
- Engaging learners with their peers and instructors (social presence)
- Engaging learners with the online content/lesson (cognitive presence)
- Engaging learners with appropriate level of learning activities (teaching presence)
