Programming

Programming is the process of designing and building an executable computer program for accomplishing a specific computing task. Programming is accomplished through the use of a programming language, some languages are easier to learn and implement than others. Each language has its strengths and weaknesses.

Level 1

Scratch

• Beginner
• Intermediate
• Advanced

To complete level 1 you must show one of the adults a scratch program that will

• Take user input
• Use variables
• Use the "More Block" function
• Use Multiple sprites
• Use conditionals
• Use Loops

Level 2

Lego Mindstorm (Only need to complete up to Intermediate for Level 2)

• Beginner
• Intermediate
• Advanced

To complete Level 2 you must

• Complete a challenge determined by adults

OR

• Make a project that
  • Uses at least two sensors to make a decision
  • Displays text on a screen
  • Uses brick sound or light

Level 3

MIT App Inventor

• Course in a box

To complete level 3 you must complete half of the maker app cards located here.

Level 4

Python

• Beginner
• Intermediate

To get complete level four you must complete at least one of the challenges located here
