Certification of Studies: Support your school administration team to register students for ministry examination sessions (January & June Examination Sessions), share Info-Sanction information with principals and Guidance Counsellors, and support school teams with Sanction rules and guidelines to be respected.

• 2. Homeschooling: Support parents who decide to homeschool their child(ren) and ensure that the child is registered with the DEM (Direction de l’Enseignement à la Maison) and has access to the resources requested by the parents.

  1. Certification of Studies: Provide online Information Sessions to school administration teams to clarify recent Info-Sanction documents shared by the MEQ.

• Accompany 

  1. Certification of Studies: May help resource teachers with questions regarding adaptations and what is authorized to be used on ministry exams.

  2. Homeschooling: Accompany parents and prepare students for Familiarization Session(s), Preparatory Activities, and ensure that the homeschooled children write their ministry exams. At times, our homeschoolers must write their ministry exams in some of your schools and classrooms, and I can accompany you and your school during this process.

• Administer

  1. Certification of Studies: Administer ministry examination sessions and ensure that Sanction rules are followed and respected by all teachers, administrators, and school teams.

• 2. Homeschooling: Schedule and administer Compulsory or Uniform MEQ exams for all homeschoolers, as well as administer local evaluations for homeschoolers in secondary 4 and 5, working towards their DES.

My areas of expertise are developmental evolution of children, teenagers and young adults. Mental health difficulties and disorders. At-Risk Students and Students with Handicaps, Social Maladjustments or Learning Difficulties (EHDAA-identification and organization of services). Eligibility for Instruction in English for students with severe learning difficulties (Form 3). Supervision and mentoring of new psychologists. Professional multidisciplinary evaluation team leadership. Derogation for early entry or grade placement. Indigenous students learning and developmental profile.

My areas of expertise are the inclusion, active participation, performance, and engagement of neurodivergent students, particularly those with sensory and motor challenges, in all aspects of school activities.

• Advise

  • Control measures in school transportation: Collaboratively problem-solving school transportation issues (that may or may not involve the use of control measures).

  • Physical school environment: Helping school team design accessible school spaces and school parks;  Suggesting appropriate use of technical aids or specific material (ex. Measure 30810-1); Supporting the optimization of the school environment in regard to ergonomics and space planning (classroom furniture, flexible classrooms,etc.).

  • Early childhood: Involvement in the Early Childhood Committee.

• Train

  • Offer the Occupational Therapist lens in the multidisciplinary Q&A meetings that are part of the training offer of the CQSB Special Education Technicians

• Accompany

  • Keyperson : Supporting the keyperson and school team (as deemed appropriate by the school keyperson) to adjust to the needs of a group of students or a specific student by providing universal strategies that target the needs identified (usually sensory and motor based) to facilitate engagement and participation in school activities.

• Innovate

  • School transportation: Creating information gathering tool for staff; Sharing tools and strategies to consider as alternatives to control measures.

Collaborative project with the three Quebec City high school teams, Educational Services as well as community partners to foster best practices and harmonize services that will support a healthy school merger.

-Accompanying the three school teams in developing a shared vision and common understanding of their respective schools’ needs, practices, cultures, and resources. Working closely with staff who intervene directly with HDAA students, more specifically the SETs, the school’s wellness committees, school professionals, and resource teachers.
